We are delighted to be able to offer a number of Scholarships each year. In order to be considered for a Scholarship you must make sure you register your daughter. Scholarships are only awarded to pupils in the Senior School, aged 11 and over. There is no funding available for girls joining the Junior School.

GDST Scholarships

11+ Academic Scholarships

Each year, we are able to offer Academic Scholarships to pupils starting in Year 7. These Scholarships will be worth £1,000 per annum throughout a girl's secondary years and are not means tested. Everyone who sits the Entrance Examination is eligible to receive a Scholarship and it is possible to be awarded a Scholarship and a bursary. There are up to two 11+ Academic Scholarships available to girls transferring from our own Junior School and up to a further two for girls joining us from other schools. Offers are made based on the results of the Entrance Examinations and a special application is not needed.

Sixth Form Scholarships:

At 16+ we are able to offer  Sixth Form Academic Scholarships to girls who demonstrate outstanding academic potential or excel in particular areas. We also offer Sixth Form Scholarships in Art, Drama and Sport to girls who excel in these areas of school life.

These Scholarships are worth £1,000 per annum for the two years of Sixth Form and are awarded following special application and a selection procedure, details of which are available from our Admissions Secretary. Applications must be submitted by the end of the Autumn Term and selection takes place in late January or early February.

Music Scholarships 

We usually award three Scholarships, one each at 11+, 13+ and 16+. Candidates should have achieved a minimum equivalent to grade 5 at 11+, grade 6 at 13+ and grade 7 at 16+ by the time they join the School.  Music Scholarships are worth £1,000 per annum with an understanding that some of this will be used towards internal tuition on one instrument (or voice). Applications must be submitted by the end of the Autumn Term. Auditions for these awards will be held in the February preceding the new school year. Further details and an application form can be obtained from the Admissions Secretary. Scholars will be expected to play a full part in the musical life of the school.
