Nursery Hours
The Nursery is open every day during term time from 8.30 am to 3.30pm. Morning sessions run from 8.30 am to 11.45 am and afternoon sessions from 12.15 pm to 3.30 pm.
Your child can attend Nursery for full days or for morning or afternoon sessions. Lunch is available every day.
Depending on your daughter’s age, we ask that she attends a minimum of three sessions per week for the first half of her first term and five sessions per week for the second half of her first term. This ensures the continuity of social interaction plus the development of her confidence in literacy and numeracy learning.
In her second term, we ask that all girls attend for a minimum of three full days and during the term prior to joining Reception, the requirement increases to full-time attendance. This is to ensure that your daughter is well prepared for the transition into our Reception Class.
Early Birds' Breakfast Club: 7.30 am to 8.30 am
Includes a nutritious breakfast of porridge, cereals and toast – a great start to the day!
After School Care: 3.30 pm to 6.00 pm
Provided in our library, this is a lovely way to wind down, have tea, listen to stories and play games in a safe and warm environment.
Holiday Care Sessions
Holiday Care is provided by YMCA. For more information, please visit the YMCA website.
Nursery Funding
All 3 and 4 years olds are eligible for a Nursery Education Grant up to a maximum of 5 sessions/15 hours per week over the 38 weeks a year the Nursery is open. The Nursery Education Grant is applied for by Portsmouth High School.
The school term finishes in the middle of July but the Nursery remains open until 31 July with full Nursery provision provided by the Nursery Leader, Miss Mills.
