The Day Nursery at Portsmouth High School promotes active learning
If a family atmosphere is how you envisage your child to experience their first taste of school then come and see us at Portsmouth High School Nursery. You can be sure your daughter’s early learning experience here will give her the very best start on her learning journey.
Enthusiastically guiding rising three year olds to explore through play, the Nursery provides an exceptionally exciting and stimulating environment. We provide sensorial activities which are colourful, lively and energetic. The planned play encourages and nurtures all children to relate to each other with confidence and consideration. The Early Years Foundation curriculum is delivered by caring staff, who are very well qualified. Each child is valued and their achievements celebrated.
Portsmouth High School Nursery is situated in the heart of Southsea village, in Portsmouth and has a stimulating and aesthetic outside play area with extensive gardens. Girls are nurtured and gently encouraged to share their experiences through speaking and listening, musical and creative activities. A healthy, balanced, cooked lunch is enjoyed by all at family tables.
Flexible full and part time nursery hours are available as well as out of hours and holiday care. All 3 and 4 years olds are eligible for a Nursery Education Grant (applied for by Portsmouth High School) up to a maximum of 5 sessions/15 hours per week over the 36 weeks a year the Nursery is open.
We offer home visits to ease your daughter’s transition into Nursery. To find out more about the learning journey in our Nursery, please contact us for our latest Day Nursery leaflet. We look forward to welcoming you and your daughter to our Nursery.
