I can proudly say that Portsmouth High Senior School has an enviable reputation for academic success. In summer 2011 we celebrated yet another set of impressive A Level results with 22% of girls achieving A*/A in all of their subjects. At GCSE level the school recorded the highest number of A* grades ever with all pupils gaining 5 GCSEs at grade A* to C. The gold standard of 5 GCSE's graded A* to C in five subjects, including English and Maths, was achieved by 98.7% of pupils. We credit our success to the hard work of our specialist teachers, disciplined classes and highly regarded, traditional courses, which give our girls a firm foundation for academic excellence.

We recognise, of course, that a good education is about more than great exam results. Our outstanding pastoral care creates an environment where each girl is nurtured, encouraged and challenged. We take time to get to know each one of our pupils, helping to build her confidence and leadership skills in preparation for the future.

Our Senior School is a vibrant and thriving environment for creative arts, music and sports. A year round calendar of art exhibitions and drama productions showcases the girls creative abilities whilst ensembles, orchestras and choirs cater for all levels of musical talent - our girls have performed at prestigious concert venues everywhere from Cardiff to Cuba.

We nurture the talents of our up-and-coming sports stars and offer a huge variety of sporting options from trampolining to football, as well as making the most of our location by the sea by offering popular sailing courses.
