Welcome to Portsmouth High School

Portsmouth High School is one of the leading independent, all-girls' schools on the South Coast, offering girls from Hampshire and West Sussex a seamless education for girls from Nursery to 18.

Since 1882, we have delivered a first-class education to generations of girls and have established an outstanding reputation for academic excellence.

As well as our academic credentials, it is our family atmosphere and community approach that set us apart. Your daughter won’t be just one of a number here, she will be part of a school where every girl is known and valued in a happy and secure environment.

We run an active business and community outreach programme, building positive local and global community relationships and opportunities as well as raising money for community groups and charities. Find out about these innovative projects which help shape our school and give our girls a broader experience.

Portsmouth High School is part of the Girls' Day School Trust. The GDST is the leading network of independent girls' schools in the UK. A charity that owns and runs 24 schools and two academies, it reinvests all its income in its schools.
