Portsmouth High School becomes a Directly Licenced Centre for the Duke of Edinburgh Award
Portsmouth High School was delighted to welcome the Director of the South East Region for the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Christian Scott, and Operations Officer Ally Griffiths, to assembly yesterday.
Mr Scott and Ms Griffiths came to present Headmistress Mrs Prescott with the school’s certificate for becoming a Directly Licenced Centre for the Duke of Edinburgh Award. This status will allow the school to organise, minister, verify and plan the whole of the Duke of Edinburgh Award for pupils at the school.
Mrs Fliss Marshallsay, Duke of Edinburgh Co-ordinator at Portsmouth High said “We are delighted to become a Directly Licenced Centre. It will enable us to be autonomous in all our planning and administration of the Duke of Edinburgh Award in school. It is a recognition of the school’s professionalism and high standards in delivering the Award which is always very popular with well over 100 students taking part each year”.
