Portsmouth High School said fond farewells to the Class of 2015 last week as the girls left school to embark on their new lives.
The girls were hosted by the Chairman of the Governors, Mrs Anne McMeehan-Roberts, to a cocktail party at her house in Petersfield last week followed, the next evening, with a Leavers Ball held at school. They also took part in a Leavers Service at St Jude’s Church and a final assembly where they were all presented with sterling silver daffodil necklaces as a memento of their time at Portsmouth High School.
‘As you prepare to move on to university, we wish you every success and happiness,’ said Mrs Prescott, Headmistress, at the final assembly. ‘You are a lively and
talented group; you have given unceasingly and tirelessly of your time and talents to the benefit of all at Portsmouth High School and in the wider community – raising over £9000 for Mind UK is nothing short of awesome. I wish you the very best for your futures.’
‘I am filled with mixed emotions about leaving school,’ said former Head Girl, Ellie Webb. ‘Sadness that my time at Portsmouth High is coming to an end and excitement at the prospect of new opportunities ahead of me. But I also have a feeling of great gratitude to the school that has taught me so much. This is the school that has taught me to believe in myself, be committed, courageous, confident and composed. I believe I leave here with the capability to make a difference.’
