9.05am | Portsmouth High School

A day in the life of Reception Class

9.05am

The first lesson of the day is French and Madame Arthurs comes in and gives instructions to the class in French. The girls sing songs about colours and animals in French and have to find each one in the classroom. They then start counting using some super visual aids and end the lesson by singing the popular Wheels on the Bus song in French.

Throughout the day the girls are awarded house points for both academic and non-academic achievements, as well as particularly good behaviour and work in class. Bronze, silver and gold house point certificates are awarded in a special celebration assembly on Fridays.
