Extra-Curricular activities take place during lunch and after school. They include choirs, orchestra, netball, rounders, tennis, ballet, drama, art, pottery, ICT, chess, cookery, Karate, yoga, science club and French. Girls may also have Speech and Drama lessons, which include preparation for English Speaking Board exams.
In all key stages, classroom learning is supported and enhanced by trips to places of interest. Younger children visit the seashore, a farm, the local shopping precinct, garden centre or playground. Older year groups enjoy discovering what life was like for Romans, Tudors, Aztecs, Victorians or evacuees in the Second World War. Year 5 spend two and a half days at a local environmental centre where they study the harbour, engage in a seashore survey, go trawling, and then classify and present their finds.
We also welcome a wide variety of visitors to the school to speak to classes or the whole school in assembly. Visiting theatre groups entertain us with productions or enhance school drama work with focused workshops.
