The work in the exhibition is an insight into the journey the students have made with their art studies over the last two years and shows the development of their ideas and their final pieces and coursework in a range of media including painting, ceramics and photography.

The themes studied by the girls include woodlands and forests, superstitions, expressive faces, contained spaces and many more.

Amelia Brooks, Head of Art said: "I am really pleased with this years exhibition, the work is excellent and shows the personal journey that each pupil has taken and shows their development. This exhibition contains a range of work including textiles, painting and sculpture. There is more photography in this years exhibition, The GCSE pupils worked with photographer Brigid Dolby when they were in Year 10 as part of the Building Bridges project with City of Portsmouth Girls School and the experiences and skills learnt during that project have emerged in their exhibition pieces.”

“For some this is the end of their art studies, therefore the exhibition is a celebration of their hard work for others this is the start of a journey as some are going on to study Art at university this September.”

The exhibition will be up until the end of the summer term. Exhibition pieces will also be on display during the School Open Morning on Saturday 4 October.
