FA Cup delights pupils PDF Print E-mail

large_web_fa_cupPupils from Portsmouth High School Junior Department were thrilled to be given the chance to see the FA Cup as it made a brief appearance in the school this afternoon.

All girls had the opportunity to pose for a photograph with the cup and the Year 6 football team were especially delighted to pose wearing their brand new football kit.

The kit was awarded by the Football Foundation (the UK’s largest sports charity) as part of the Foundation’s Junior Kit Scheme and arrived just before the end of the summer term.

Hannah Taulbut; PE Co-ordinator at the Junior Department said; “Football has increased in popularity at the school, so for the girls to be able to see the FA Cup is a real treat. We have an after school football club run by coaches from Portsmouth in the Community, part of Portsmouth FC, so I have high expectations for the girls in the future.”

It wasn’t just the pupils who posed for photographs, staff and parents got in on the action too before the cup was whisked back to its home at Fratton Park.
