Sisters Abigail and Fleur Emery, founders of Team Grasshopper, the flourishing business which makes individual pots of organic porridge, will be returning to their old school on Thursday 20th March to talk to pupils as part of a lunchtime careers session.
The sisters, former pupils at Portsmouth High School, who grew up in Southsea, will tell current pupils all about Team Grasshopper and what it takes to become an entrepreneur. During the lunchtime session they will discuss the stages of development of their company, from first thinking of the product to getting it on the shop shelves.
Sarah Spender, Head of Careers at Portsmouth High School said “Fleur and Abi are great role models for our girls. They have worked tremendously hard to launch their business and I’m really excited about inviting them back to school as part of our careers programme.”
Abigail Emery, of Team Grasshopper said; “We are really looking forward to visiting PHS and hope to inspire the girls. It will be great to catch up with our former teachers too!”
The sisters developed the idea for instant porridge pots after taking part in outdoor recreational activities that always made them really hungry. Abi, a watersports enthusiast, wanted something warm and filling after she came off the water and Fleur who lives in London wanted something hot and homemade that she could eat on the go.
The little pots of organic porridge can be ordered online and are currently sold in a number of outlets across the UK including Harvey Nichols in London and Leeds. Why not visit their website wwwteamgrasshopper.co.uk to find out more. |
