A large contingent of athletic girls represented Portsmouth High School Junior Department in this year's Junior and Mini South Runs on October 25th . On a cold and windy day, thirty one children took part wearing their new bright pink running shirts.

Hannah Ellis (Year 2) ran in support of Leukaemia Research while Elizabeth Rose (Year 4) supported the National Association for Colitis and Crohns Disease.

Other girls ran simply for the fun of taking part. Many personal bests were achieved and Holly Hunt (Year 4) achieved third place in the Mini Run. 

Running has become a popular after-school club and many of the girls will be competing in races including the Gosport Fun Run which takes place later this month.
