Litter Roadshow comes to PHS PDF Print E-mail

litter_smallPupils at Portsmouth High School were visited at lunchtime today by members of the, ‘Clean City Services’ Roadshow so that they could spread the message about litter awareness and clean streets within Portsmouth.

As well as information to read and take away pupils were able to enter quizzes and competitions about litter and rubbish and there were many freebies on offer.

The Roadshow is part of a City wide campaign to inform children and young people about clean streets and more importantly about the on the spot fines of £75 which can be issued to anyone seen dropping litter.

Lynne Lennard, Service Delivery Administrator for Clean City Services said; “This is the fourth secondary school we have been to and I have to say the school is immaculate, however it is really important to re-enforce the message so that young people are aware of on the spot fines. ”

The Roadshow will continue to tour schools in the city and will be visiting Dovercourt in May, where there will be colouring and poster competitions on offer for pupils.
