Congratulations to Harriet Culver, Holly Sandford and Zanna Grey, whose creative writing has been selected to feature in the Portsmouth City Council Anthology of local young writers.

This year’s topic was “Futures” and presented quite a challenge for our pupils in Years 7 to 9 as they got out their crystal balls to look into what might happen to Portsmouth in the future.

Certainly it gave them a chance to discuss what the issues are now, such as the effects of global warming, transport problems and the needs of different sections of the community —and to concentrate on what the consequences might be.

Some very interesting original writing was produced, making it very difficult to select the final ten to go forward. Well done to all the girls who provided such thought-provoking writing!
