On Thursday 13 December Year 7 and 8 pupils were presented with a plaque and certificate for their fundraising efforts for LEPRA. Between them the girls raised a staggering £2195.76

Earlier in the term over 130 Year 7 and 8 pupils from Portsmouth High School took part in a fundraising event with a difference.

The aerobics workout was organised by the regional fundraiser from LEPRA a medical development charity which aims to restore, health, hope and dignity to people affected by leprosy and other diseases of poverty.

The pupils not only had a great time working out and exercising with a trained aerobics instructor, it also provided a wonderful learning opportunity as prior to the workout they were given an educational presentation by LEPRA on their work and how it impacts on poor communities in the developing world.

Prior to the LEPRA workout girls were given envelopes in which to collect donations from families and friends and these were collected at the workout session.

During assembly this week the girls were visited by representatives from LEPRA who commend them for their fundraising efforts and presented the girls with a plaque and certificate.
