Pupils perform in Wales PDF Print E-mail

cardiff_smallSenior pupils from Portsmouth High School took to the stage at the Cardiff Millennium Centre, Wales, on Monday 26 February to perform in their lunchtime concert series.

The Sixth Form and Year 11 pupils performed a number of solos and chamber music pieces to the large audience which gathered to hear them, and were delighted that the organisers invited them back to perform again.

Angela Blackwell, Director of Music at the school, said, “What a truly amazing experience, it was a wonderful opportunity to perform in such a beautiful building and on a professional stage. We were made to feel extremely welcome and the girls received a great reaction from the audience, I was extremely proud of them.”

The pupils will be playing again on Friday 2 March when the Music Department will perform an Anniversary Recital in the Senior School Atrium to celebrate the School’s 125th Birthday; there will also be an opportunity for the audience to view an exhibition of school archives and memorabilia.
