Excited chatter filled the Drama Studio on the afternoon of Saturday 21 June – as we welcomed back former Portsmouth High School pupils who left the school 10 years ago.
The 1998 leavers reunion was inspired by the school’s 125 Birthday Reunion back in March 2007 – as it was during this event that former classmates Anita Sankar and Clare Williamson returned to the school and decided to arrange their own mini reunion to mark their 10th Anniversary of leaving the school.
Nearly 30 Old Girls were involved, some travelling some distance to come back to Portsmouth, although many still live and work locally. The girls reminisced and and enjoyed a tour of the school conducted by Mrs Spender – which resulted in much story-telling as memories of teachers, lessons and practical jokes came flooding back!
We are always keen to hear from former students, to catch up on their news, and to find out about their studies and which direction their careers have taken them in. Please do contact the school if you would like to be included on our Old Girls mailing list.
Following the success of the 1950-1959 leavers reunion in March this year the school intends to hold decade reunions each year. March 2009 will be the turn of the 1960-1969 leavers, so please do contact us if this was your era.
