portmsouth_high_school_year_10_pupils_lorna_lister_alexandra_baker_and_alice_taylor_supporting_fairtrade_fortnight_smallA break and lunchtime sale of Fairtrade items at Portsmouth High School last week raised £142 for Traidcraft, the UK’s leading fair-trade organisation .

The sale was organised as part of Fairtrade Fortnight, which encourages people to make a difference to the lives of producers in the developing world by buying fair trade.

Pupils had already learnt about Fairtrade in an assembly organised by Sixth Formers earlier in the week, and Fairtrade was also the topic of a lunchtime discussion for the Current Affairs and Debating Society, where pupils were able to express their views and learn more about how trade can help developing countries.
