Pupils in the Senior School experienced an amazing Tae Kwon Do display this week when members of the GB squad visited the school to promote the launch of a new Portsmouth High School Club. Nine national and international competitors visited the school with their coach to demonstrate some of the skills involved Tae Kwon Do, the world's most popular marital art, which has been an Olympic Sport since 2000. Mrs Divilly, Director of Sport at the School, who organised the event said; "We are keen to organise a Portsmouth High School Tae Kwon Do team. After half-term the PE department will be offering all senior pupils the opportunity to take part in 5 week taster sessions delivered by professional coaches. The sessions will be free to girls to attend so they can gain an insight into the sport - with the view that we will be able to set up a successful after-school club in the autumn term.
