Work created by Year 7 pupils is currently on display in Portsmouth Central Library. The work is all themed around flight, as this year is the 100th anniversary of the first manned flight over the English Channel.

Back in 1909 The Daily Mail offered £1,000 to the first person who achieved this feat. The work created by pupils includes their ideas of what aeroplanes will look like in the future as well as musical work connected with flight.

Miss Blackwell, Director of Music at the School, contacted The Daily Mail this year to tell them of the project and the work that she and pupils are working on. The Daily Mail wrote back to the school sending a number of photographs of the event and also copies of newspaper articles at the time; all of which are included in the display.
