Junior School pupils celebrated World Book Day on Thursday 6th March. Every child in the Junior School was asked to bring to school a prop from their favourite book. During the day the girls used the props to guess the title of their classmate's favourite books.

World Book Day was designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and is marked in over 100 countries around the globe. The main aim of World Book Day is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books.

Deputy Head of the Junior Department, Cheryl Fontana said; "In previous years we have asked children to come into school dressed as their favourite character, this year we thought we would do something different"

"Bringing a prop to school meant the girls had to really think about the books they had read and one item that could be used to help others recognise the title. We had some weird and wonderful items brought into school, including, broomsticks, chocolates, cuddly toys, and cheerleaders' pom poms”
