The Early Years’ team is led by Mrs Alex Algieri who is the Early Years’ Co-ordinator. Mrs Algieri joined the school from the University of Chichester where she lectured in early years’ education and brings with her specialist knowledge over a wide area.
Mrs Amanda Dempster joined the school as a Pre-School teacher and has a wide range of experience teaching in early years. Her most recent role has been as the deputy head of a nursery where she led a team promoting early numeracy and literacy skills.
Pre-School teacher Mrs Jackie Shaw has extensive experience of delivering excellence within an early years setting. Educated to degree level in Early Years Care and Education, she has built a new nursery from scratch and also worked to achieve an outstanding inspection assessment in a well-established independent school.
Montessori trained Forest School Leader Mrs Joan West spends afternoon sessions with our Nursery children helping them acquire skills and information in the outdoors classroom as research shows that in the early years these learning experiences make stronger connections in children’s brains.
Together, the Pre-School team are delivering a strong programme to promote learning, both in the academic and social skills forums to promote a secure foundation for girls as they progress through the school.
