The atmosphere in the Sixth Form is always warm and welcoming, with an emphasis on individual attention. It’s a real step-up from the GCSE experience, a new phase of independence and an ideal preparation for university and beyond. Sixth Formers enjoy the excitement of the academic challenge and the opportunities for personal development offered in our rich programmes of study.
Our students regularly tell us that they couldn’t have anticipated the change which takes place with the move up to Sixth Form: they enthuse about a new informality in their relationships with teachers, small classes and the chance to develop their own specialist areas of interest through extended project work.
A dedicated head of careers and an experienced team of tutors offer outstanding support at all stages of the Sixth Form experience. In an increasingly complex landscape of university and career paths, their expertise and advice prove invaluable in setting each of our girls on the route that suits them best.
It’s a happy, busy and very friendly place – there is always someone ready to share a cup of tea and a chat in the common room. We live by our philosophy that happy students achieve the greatest success.

What current Sixth Form students say…
I definitely feel I have become more confident since starting the Sixth Form. The freedom and informality are matched with responsibility and support. Staff are always willing to advise and help.
Moving to a new school has worked so well for me. I’ve learnt so much and I love the independence and working with like-minded people. It feels friendly and dedicated – everyone wants the best for you – and the diversity and choice means that everyone has a sense that they belong.
