Sixth Form Case Studies

Emily

A levels – Chemistry, Mathematics, History and EPQ

Being a part of Sixth Form life has really allowed me to come out of my shell and has also allowed me to take on challenges such as being the Senior Prefect in Marketing as well as being an Academic Scholar.

Throughout this year, I have also been able to get involved in other enriching activities such as supporting ‘Save the Children’ as well as chairing the Science Society in the second term of Year 12.

I have thoroughly enjoyed delving deeper into my current A Level subjects, not only learning about what is necessary for the course but also reading around the subject into areas

which intrigue me the most. Although there is no doubt that there is a great step up from GCSEs, Sixth Form has been an amazing transition as not only does it prepare you for university but also builds your confidence greatly in order to combat any problems you might face along the way.

As a result of the class sizes being small, you are able to learn in an independent way and the teaching staff are always available if you are in need of support or guidance. Similarly, the friendly and family like atmosphere within PHS is second to none, as not only are you given much more independence, you are also encouraged to reach your highest potential.
