A levels – History, Religious Studies and Drama
I have been at PHS since Year 7 and I am really enjoying the more university seminar feel of the academic lessons in the Sixth Form.
We are given so many opportunities here with work experience placements, in music, drama and sport. Academic lectures help us find out more about subjects we are studying and also give us a chance to really think outside the box with subjects we have never heard of.
My teachers in all of my subjects are enthusiastic and inspire me to study all of the different topics in greater depth. I have also enjoyed the independence of doing my EPQ
research whilst also being supported through it by the staff. I love the amount of sport and music I have been able to continue doing as a music scholar and member of the first team for hockey as well as the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award which I had never considered doing until I came into the Sixth Form. I have been able to follow my ambition of studying languages by running the Languages Society, doing a French exchange and finally successfully applying to the High Achiever’s Summer School at the University of Nottingham which gave me a unique insight into university life.
