Celebrating the achievements of our students

This week we were delighted to welcome back many of our recent Year 13 leavers, alongside our current students in Years 11 to 13, for our Senior Awards Evening. While the role of prizes and awards in education is often debated, I firmly believe that recognising dedication, perseverance, excellence and contribution remains an important part of school life.

Acknowledging the successes and efforts of our students helps foster a culture of aspiration and personal growth. Of course, achievement takes many forms. Academic success deserves celebration, but so too do progress, leadership, creativity, service to others, and the many ways students enrich the life of PHS.

Our responsibility is to prepare young people for life beyond the classroom, where commitment and accomplishment are frequently recognised and rewarded. By encouraging students to value achievement while learning to respond positively to both triumphs and setbacks, we help develop the resilience, character and perspective they will need in the years ahead.
