As we settle into the new academic year, I’m delighted to share some exciting developments in our digital learning provision at Portsmouth High Prep School. Technology continues to play a central role in our curriculum, empowering our pupils to become confident, creative, and responsible digital citizens.
Our dedicated computing lessons are a cornerstone of this approach. From coding and online safety to 3D modelling and digital design, our pupils are developing a wide range of skills that will serve them well in the future. We’ve recently introduced a new 3D printer, which is already sparking curiosity and creativity across the Prep. The girls are exploring how digital design translates into physical form, and we’re seeing some truly imaginative projects take shape.
Year 5 and 6 pupils are making excellent use of their dedicated iPads, seamlessly integrating technology into their learning across subjects. Whether researching, collaborating, or creating multimedia presentations, their digital fluency is growing day by day.
I’m also thrilled with the early progress of our Tech Prefect team. These pupils have embraced their roles with enthusiasm and maturity, supporting their peers and helping to embed good digital habits throughout the school.
On Monday, I had the pleasure of attending the GDST EdTech meeting, where we explored how digital learning will evolve across the Trust. It’s inspiring to see the shared commitment to innovation and excellence, and I’m excited about the opportunities this will bring for our pupils and staff alike.
As we continue to invest in our digital offer, our goal remains clear: to ensure every pupil is equipped with the skills, confidence, and curiosity to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
