Geography Day gets pupils buzzing

On Monday, our Prep School was buzzing with excitement as pupils immersed themselves in Geography Day, brilliantly organised by Mrs Parrott. The day was a celebration of curiosity, exploring landscapes, cultures, and the connections that shape our world.

Humanities subjects like geography are vital in helping children understand the world they live in. They teach us not only about places and people but also about the relationships between communities and environments. In an age of global challenges, climate change, migration, and cultural diversity, these skills are more important than ever.

Introducing these concepts early fosters empathy, critical thinking, and a sense of responsibility. When children learn about different countries and cultures, they begin to appreciate diversity and develop the ability to see issues from multiple perspectives. Geography is not just about maps; it is about understanding our shared planet and how we can care for it.

Thank you to all involved for inspiring our pupils to think globally and act locally. Days like these remind us that learning about the humanities is not just academic, it is preparation for life.
