As we begin to navigate the summer term, I find myself feeling particularly excited about what lies ahead. The summer term is always a highlight of the school year, filled with energy, growth and memorable moments, and this year will be especially meaningful for me as it will be my final term as Head of Portsmouth High Prep School before moving on to my next adventures.
I am very much looking forward to sharing this term with our pupils, staff and families. From the curriculum highlights and performances to sports, trips and celebrations, the summer term offers so many opportunities to reflect on how much our children have achieved and how far they have come. It feels a privilege to be able to enjoy one last summer term at a school that has been such an important part of my personal and professional life.
Alongside this, I would like to reassure families that the transition to our next Head is already well underway. I am working closely with Mrs Irvine-Capel, my successor, to ensure a smooth handover. One of the great strengths of this transition is that Mrs Irvine-Capel is moving into the role from within the school. Her deep knowledge of Portsmouth High Prep School, our pupils, our staff and our ethos provides real continuity and stability.
As the summer term unfolds, I am determined to savour each moment and ensure that it is a positive and successful term for everyone. Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support and for being such an important part of our school community.
