As we step into the new academic year, I am delighted to welcome you all back to Portsmouth High Prep School. I hope the summer break provided your families with time to rest, recharge and enjoy some memorable moments together.
The start of a new term always brings a sense of excitement and anticipation, and this year is no exception. We are looking forward to a busy and inspiring year ahead, filled with opportunities for learning, growth and joy.
I am pleased to share some wonderful staffing updates. We warmly welcome back Mrs Lucy Moffitt from her maternity leave. Her return is a source of great happiness for the team and the children alike. We are also thrilled to introduce Mrs Emmy Hutchins, who joins us as a classroom assistant. Her enthusiasm and dedication will be a fantastic addition to our Prep School community.
This term, we are launching two exciting initiatives that reflect our commitment to innovation and excellence in education. In the younger years, we will be developing our new phonics programme, designed to further strengthen early reading skills and foster a love of language from the very beginning. For our older girls in Years 4, 5 and 6, I will be introducing a financial education programme. This initiative aims to build confidence and understanding around money, budgeting and financial decision-making, skills that will serve them well both now and in the future.
As always, our focus remains on nurturing each child’s potential in a caring and stimulating environment. I look forward to working closely with you throughout the term and sharing in the many achievements and milestones to come.
