Portsmouth High School students proudly displayed their work at the annual Art and Design Technology exhibition this week. Parents and governors joined VIP guests including the Lord Mayors of Havant and Fareham, at the exhibition.
‘The Art and Design exhibition is always a highlight on the school calendar,’ said Head of Art, Mrs Amelia Brooks. ‘It is a joy to see the culmination of the work from students from GCSE and A level years. Their work shows great maturity and depth.’
Assistant Head of Portsmouth High School and Head of Design Technology, Mr Graeme Field, added:
‘The girls have worked so hard and it is lovely that all their pieces can be appreciated at an exhibition such as this. For many, it is a finale of two year’s work for GCSEs and A Levels.
Each piece is so unique and reflects much of the personality of the girls.’
The Mayor of Gosport, Councillor Linda Batty added:
‘The Portsmouth High School girls have produced some wonderful work and I am delighted to see so much talent on display. They have all worked incredibly hard.’
Sixth Form Art Scholar Harriet Bone, 18, was among many of the GCSE and A level students who were proud to talk about their work to the invited guests.
The Mayor of Havant, Councillor Elaine Shimbart added:
‘It has been a wonderful evening and the exhibition is a testament to all the hard work that the girls and staff have put into the year.’
