Prep School girls have just returned from Portsmouth High Prep School’s Music Tour.
Girls from Years 5 and 6 travelled to Bath for two days of sightseeing and music making. They left in the school minibus and, on arrival at Bath, had a guided tour of the Roman Baths and the city of Bath including a visit to Bath Abbey, the weir and Pulteney Bridge. The girls discovered some of the filming locations for Jane Austen’s Persuasion and got to sample some delicious fudge after watching it being made.
On Saturday the group travelled to the Prep School at Royal High School Bath (a sister GDST school). After rehearsing in the morning, followed by a delicious lunch, the girls performed in a wonderful concert with Royal High Prep School girls, co-directed by Portsmouth High Prep School’s Director of Music Mrs Hill and the Royal High Prep School Director of Music, Mrs Millard.
Director of Music Mrs Hilll said ‘It has been a delight to lead Portsmouth High Prep School’s Music Tour. It has been such a valuable experience for the girls giving them confidence to perform to an audience outside of school in a different venue. The added cultural experience of touring Bath made this a real trip to remember’.
