Pupils at Portsmouth High School GDST were celebrating this morning after receiving their GCSE results; with equivalent A*-B grades of 75%.
‘We are, once again, thrilled to celebrate an outstanding set of GCSE results with our pupils,’ said Head, Mrs Sarah Parker. ‘These achievements reflect their dedication and resilience, the exceptional teaching they’ve received, and the strong culture of hard work that runs throughout our school.’
India, 16, was celebrating with a clean sweep of A*s and 9s.
‘I am so happy,’ she said. ‘I want to say a huge thank you to all the teaching staff at Portsmouth High School. I am now going out for breakfast and then out for dinner with my friends tonight. I am coming back in September to the Sixth Form to study history, chemistry and mathematics.’
Ava was celebrating with 2 A*s, 2x8s, 4x7s, a 6 and a 5.
‘I’m just so excited,’ she said. ‘I’m off out to celebrate with my friends.’
‘I am thrilled with my results,’ said Holly who got an A*, 4x6s, 2x5s and a 4. ‘It’s my Birthday today so I am going out for breakfast to celebrate results and then out tonight to celebrate my Birthday.’
‘What an extraordinary year group and I am delighted for them,’ said Head of Year 11, Mrs Julie Parkinson. ‘Today is just a stepping stone to the next stage and we look forward to welcoming many of the pupils back into Sixth Form next month.’
‘I have been so impressed with this year’s cohort. They have worked hard and achieved good results and are enjoying everything today brings. We look forward to welcoming the pupils back for an exciting two years in the Sixth Form,’ added Mrs Parker.
