The Early Years’ team is led by Mrs Sarah Holden who is the Early Years’ Co-ordinator. Sarah joined the school with over 10 years teaching experience gained at Prep schools in London and rural Hampshire. She has taught in both Early Years and Pre-Prep and has a passion for outdoor learning and developing the individual child.
Mrs Amanda Dempster joined the school as a Pre-School teacher and has a wide range of experience teaching in early years. Her most recent role has been as the deputy head of a nursery where she led a team promoting early numeracy and literacy skills.
Pre-School teacher Mrs Jackie Shaw has extensive experience of delivering excellence within an early years setting. Educated to degree level in Early Years Care and Education, she has built a new nursery from scratch and also worked to achieve an outstanding inspection assessment in a well-established independent school.
Montessori trained Forest School Leader Mrs Joan West spends afternoon sessions with our Pre-School children helping them acquire skills and information in the outdoors classroom as research shows that in the early years these learning experiences make stronger connections in children’s brains.
Together, the Pre-School team are delivering a strong programme to promote learning, both in the academic and social skills forums to promote a secure foundation for girls as they progress through the school.
