Welcome to Portsmouth High School

These are some of the most important years of your daughter’s young life. Her experiences so far have ignited her imagination, built her confidence and helped her develop a strong sense of self. Our role, as senior school educators, is to nurture the person she is now and provide the scaffolding on which to build her dreams, so that she can grow into the future she envisions for herself.

We are proud of our girls...

We are proud of our academic track record (see our examination results), and we are especially proud of our girls for consistently achieving at this level. We watch in awe as they grow into happy, accomplished and talented young people. For them, success is more than academic excellence; it is the ability to face challenges and cope with all that growing up brings. It is about being human and doing the right thing by others. It is about being open, honest and accountable, filled with confidence, energy, courage and integrity.

Getting ready to fly...

Our girls are leaders who work well with others. They are serious about their goals, yet bring humour and joy to everyday life. They are preparing for lift-off.

As the team that supports them, we are there at every step of their journey. Our wellbeing centre, Daffodil House, brings together form tutors and heads of year with our welfare, counselling, psychology and pastoral staff to create a rock-solid emotional foundation. By the time they enter sixth form, they have developed their own style, are fully prepared for life beyond school, and are ready to fly.
