A levels – History, Mathematics, Spanish, French and EPQ
I have been a pupil at PHS since the age of four, and have been encouraged to fulfil my potential throughout my school life. In Year 9, for instance, the school enabled me to take my French GCSE two years early and achieve an A*, despite having no French relatives.
This level of support continues, if you wish it to, in Sixth Form. It is my intention to apply to Cambridge and this ambition has been assisted by the fantastic Sixth Form staff, who have dedicated time towards super-curricular supervision style sessions where we can debate and discuss theories and concepts within my subject in greater depth.
As a Sports and Drama Scholar, I enjoy the amount of co-curricular activity that I can continue doing in the Sixth Form. Being able to be a part of the netball, hockey, rounders and athletics teams this year, as well as helping coach the football teams, in addition to playing a lead in the school musical and making my directorial debut with Year 9 Drama Club, has been nothing short of fantastic.
The range of opportunities offered to you in Sixth Form is not narrowed but widened, with academic lectures, work experience placements and subject-specific societies in addition to the sport, music and drama clubs offered lower down the school. Beyond these offerings, there is also the chance to take on positions of responsibility within the school.
Recently I have been appointed as a member of the Head Girl Team, a role where I have the chance to demonstrate my leadership skills, and develop further life skills through the independent organisation of the annual ‘Charity Week’ to fundraise for our chosen charity.
I have thoroughly enjoyed Sixth Form so far and look forward to Upper Sixth with keen anticipation.
