Holiday Clubs in Southsea

Multi-activity programmes designed to ensure your children get the best out of their school holidays

Join us for a summer of Holiday Club fun with lots of exciting activities both indoors and out.

Portsmouth High School will be providing multi-activity day holiday camps for children aged 3 – 11 years for the period Monday 26 July to Friday 20 August. Our multi-activity programme will bring together a balanced mix of IT, arts and crafts with sport, cookery, dance and outdoor activities. We will ensure your children will get the best out of their school holiday. Each week the camp will have a theme and will include a range of games, tasks, sporting and creative activities.

Summer Holiday Clubs are open to children from 3 to 11 years, whether for a single session or for the whole week. Your child does not have to be a current pupil at Portsmouth High School, everyone is welcome.

Active Summer and Theatre Club (Week 1)


Monday 26 July to Friday 3
0 July 

Active Summer – Ages 3 to 7 years. A full range of sporting and creative activities, including dance, that will bring out the best of summer in Southsea.

Theatre Club – Ages 7 to 11 years. A play in a week. Theatre Club will take place at the Senior School and ideally children should attend for the entire week as the club will be working towards a performance on the afternoon of Friday 30 July.

Creative Arts Week (Week 2)


Monday 2 August to Friday 6 August 

Creative Arts – For children aged 3 to 7 years. This is a fun and creative arts and crafts summer themed week.

Summer Cookery – For children aged 7 to 11 years. Summer cookery will take place in the fabulous Food Technology Room at the Senior School and is suitable for all budding chefs who love to create a variety of savoury and sweet delights.

The Great Outdoors (Week 3)


Monday 9 August to Friday 13 August

The Great Outdoors – Great Outdoors week is suitable for all children aged 3 to 11 years and will take place in the beautiful and spacious grounds of Portsmouth High Prep School. The week offers play and educational experiences in the natural environment. From making fires to understanding nature, this is the ultimate for any future Bear Grylls or Steve Backshall.

Seaside Fun and Sports (Week 4)


Week 4: Monday 16 to Friday 20 August

Seaside fun – For children aged 3 to 7 years. This is a fun and creative activities themed camp for children which will make the most of our wonderful location beside the sea.

Sports week – For children aged 7 to 11 years. Run by trampoline coach Mr Whitelock, this week will use sports facilities across both the Senior and Prep School sites and will include trampoline. games and tennis.

Booking Information


Holiday Club costs

The cost will be £35 per individual day. Drop off is between 8am and 9am and pick up is between 4pm and 5pm. Cookery club and drama club will take place at the Senior School.

All payments must be paid in full at the time of booking to secure a place. Please note, that we are not able to provide lunch on these days so children are required to provide their own packed lunch and bring a water bottle.

How to book

Please book your child’s place via https://www.trybooking.co.uk/ZVN and complete the booking form and make your payment. If you are paying by childcare vouchers through your provider, please enter the code CHILDCARE at the time of payment. Alternatively, please contact the school Finance Officer Helen Harris via the school office by telephoning 023 9282 6714 or e-mailing h.harris@por.gdst.net.

You can book the full week or individual days for your child. Please make separate bookings for each child attending Holiday Club. Please note that it is preferred to book the whole week for the drama club as students will be working towards a performance on the last day.

Our Summer Clubs will be operating under the latest PHS COVID-19 risk assessment and each activity will operate in its own isolation bubble.

Terms and Conditions

Changing your booking
Seven days notice is required and the school will endeavour to change the dates within the same holiday season (e.g. summer), subject to availability at no extra cost.

Cancelling your booking
A minimum of 14 days notice is required to cancel a booking. All monies paid will be refunded less the equivalent of £10 per day cancellation fee. In the case of cancellations with less than 14 days notice, we regret that no refund is available except in the case of injury/illness which has been certified in writing by a registered medical practitioner accompanied by a letter to the school.

Insurance
All children in our care are covered by our Public Liability Insurance.

First Aid
In the event of an accident, first aid will be administered to children in our care, and the emergency services will be called if necessary.

Child Exclusion
If, on the rare occasion that a child proves incompatible with the general well-being of the group e.g. bullying, disruptive or aggressive behaviour, the school reserves the right to exclude such children. No refund will be made for any remaining days booked and any costs associated with the exclusion, including transport home, will be the parent’s responsibility.

Please note: children are required to bring packed lunches and snacks every day.  Portsmouth High School is happy to accept Childcare Vouchers as payment for Holiday Club. For a list of providers, and the relevant codes, please click here.
